Moving out in Adelaide? Use this end of lease cleaning checklist to prepare kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, floors and final inspection areas.
End of lease cleaning is stressful because the standard is different from normal weekly cleaning. The property needs to look ready for the next person and the final inspection usually focuses on details tenants forget when they are busy moving.
Kitchen checklist
Clean benches, cupboard fronts, splashback, sink, tapware, stovetop, rangehood exterior and visible marks. If the oven is included in your agreement or inspection expectations, book oven cleaning early so it is not rushed on moving day.
Bathroom checklist
Focus on toilets, showers, screens, basins, mirrors, tapware, exhaust fans and floor edges. Soap residue and hard water marks can stand out during inspection, especially in bathrooms that have been used daily for a long time.
Bedrooms, living areas and floors
Dust visible surfaces, wipe skirting boards where needed, vacuum carpets, mop hard floors and check behind doors. Remove cobwebs and marks that are obvious at eye level. A final walkthrough helps catch rooms that were missed during the moving rush.
Book enough time
The biggest mistake is treating end of lease cleaning like a quick regular clean. If the property is large, heavily used or has extras, allow enough time or request a realistic quote before the handover date.
